I can see the stars from America

✨ The night after our stars ✨

I watched The Fault In Our Stars last Monday with two of my friends and I was supposed to post this yesterday but last night, my other friend asked me if I wanted to watch TFIOS and even if I just saw it, I said yes. But when we got at the cinema awhile ago, the next showing of the movie was 4PM so we decided to watch Maleficent instead. (I watched Maleficent already by the way) But okay enough of that stuff.

So 2 hours before I cried my eyes out, my friends and I met at 11AM then we bought tickets for the 1PM show. To kill time, we went to Quantum to play some games and win some tickets to claim prizes because that’s what cool kids do. At about 12:25 we went back to the cinema and bought food. And wow I got a huge ass popcorn and my friends were like “You won’t finish that.” And I was like bitchez please, once we step inside I might have an emotional breakdown and food helps me calm me down. /I didn’t finish the popcorn/.

Anyway, we entered the cinema a bit too early. So I stayed in the bathroom for like 10 minutes because I didn’t want to see or hear the last few scenes. So when my friend told me it was clear and we could go find seats now, and as soon as we walked in the theater, the end credits were rolling and poof All Of The Stars started playing and after that T-Shirt by Birdy played and ugh / Queen Jasmine van den Boegarde/. So yeah we waited and then they finally dimmed the lights, showed trailers, commercials, even the ad for OTRA tour. By the time 20th Century thing came on, I swear by that time my heart started going crazy and I thought it was literally going to jump out of my body. I was so nervous and excited and I aisdhajbghk.

Can I just say that I loved the movie as much as I loved the book? This movie literally stayed faithful to the book. I remember watching a John Green vlog last year, I think(?) where he was on the set and he was telling how he was just imagining it and now it’s literally coming to life and it’s exactly how he imagined it? Well yeah, he was right. This movie paid attention not only to the huge details but also to the little ones. Also, can we all give a round of applause to the actors in this movie? Ansel just did a wonderful job (and he died again but this time because of cancer not because of a bucket), plus I am just in love with Ansel right now ugh. Shailene, you da one gurl. Nat, oh MY GOD I HAVE LOVED YOU SINCE YOU WERE 14 AND NOW THAT YOU’RE ALMOST 20 I STILL LOVE YOU.

Basically, here are the scenes where I cried:

-The swing set scene

-“Okay?” “Okay.” “Stop flirting with me!” 😦

-The where Gus gave Hazel flowers

-The picnic scene // Monkey Bones scene (The first one before they went to Amsterdam and the second when Gus was already sick)

-The restaurant scene when Gus told Hazel he was in love with her.

-Anne Frank house. Where they kissed asaGHNAdgN KILIG BUT I CRIED

-The gasoline station scene. That was so so intense. Like he just wanted to do something for himself and buy a pack of cigarettes.

-THE FUNERAL ITSELF when Hazel put the pack of cigarettes on Gus’ coffin. That was so emotional and beautiful.

– And I just lost it and cried like a baby when Hazel was reading Augustus’ eulogy for her.

So basically I cried the whole last hour of the movie.

Disappointments? I really wish they included Gus’ ex-girlfriend. And the day (?) when Gus died and Hazel goes on his wall on Facebook and reads things posted by his “friends”.  But ya okay I’m totes okay with it. My TFIOS rating?: 4.9/5. 🙂

So out of reach

• I kinda failed Physics hahaha ha ha 😦 But for the first time I didn’t cry and didn’t feel bad about it plus my mom didn’t get mad at me.

• But all my grades went up and my I was legit shocked when I saw my Lit grade, it went up by 6 freaking points omg okay hahaha.

• I’m enjoying my English and Filipino class. HIHI. For the whole grading we’ll be writing and I just enjoy writing.

• I made a new online friend WHEEE. Making friends online is easier online than in real life. Hahaha.

• Accomplished my La Salle forms and passed it. Got my exam permit and I’ll be taking the DLSUCET this coming Saturday. I’m so nervous like I can’t even. This is my dream school, okay? I need to do good on this exam. I could just imagine me wearing a “DLSU” shirt/hoodie next year and going to a UAAP game and cheering “ANIMO LA SALLE” omg heh.

• Oh and if ever Kobe (Paras) joins DLSU in 2015, OA na line up nila okay! With Jeron and AVO (Not sure though when he’s graduating. Is this his last year?)

• My group mate lost her usb. And the soft copy of our thesis is there ugh 😦 I wish she can find it because my copy of the thesis got deleted.

• I don’t have a service anymore so I’ll be commuting every morning ugh because my mom thinks I need to learn because next year if ever I get into a Uni in Manila, of course I have to take a jeep to go there because we don’t have a car. Well, my relatives have a car but I won’t be staying in the family house if ever. And if I don’t go to Manila, obviously I will be taking a jeep to school too.

•Wherever You Are by 5SOS is stuck in my head ugh

•Starbucks is starting to sell their Christmas flavors. Weee. It’s a glorious time to thank God that I live next to John Hay. HEH. So I can just walk there and get a drink 🙂 They released a new flavor, gingerbread latte? Haha. It tastes good but if you don’t like cinnamon, you won’t like it that much. But Peppermint Mocha remains to be my favorite. It’s literally Christmas in a cup.

•I watched The Virgin Suicides years ago. But I didn’t understand it that much. So I watched it again, and tadaaa new fave movie. Haha.

•Still deciding whether to get a 5C this Christmas or not. I already told my dad about it and since he’s not coming home for Christmas this year since he’s going home in time for my graduation on March, he told me to think about it first before I get another plan because my BB contract isn’t up until July 2014. So yeah. Haha.

• Tom Fletcher and his wife are going to have a baby omg omg omg hahaha

• I hate Jenna Hamilton. She hurt Matty and I will never forgive her for making my bby cry.

• HIMYM update: Robin’s mom isn’t going to the wedding. Ted proposed to the mother at the lighthouse.

• I got embarrassed during Music class last Friday. My teacher asked us to sing the first two Hallelujahs in Handel’s. Apparently, I sang the Tenor part. 😦

• That is all, I guess?

We got the beat

As promised, here’s the post about the 80’s movies I watched for the past few weeks. (See, even the title of this post is 80’s-ish.)

Here’s a quick story about why I decided to do an 80’s chick flick/highschool movie marathon. There was a quote in the movie, Easy A which was:

“I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80′s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, John Hughes did not direct my life.”

So I googled John Hughes and then read the wiki page about him and the rest was history. Since l devoted my summer last year watching Friends (which began in the 90s) and watched a few 90’s movies, I thought I’d watch 80’s movies for a change this summer. Especially that my parents were 80’s kids (Wait, I think they were already teenagers in the 80s…). Anyway, I wanted to know what movies they watched, the actors they fangirled/fanboy-ed about and the bands they listened to.

First off, I watched The Breakfast Club. I watched this sometime in 2012, though the quality wasn’t that good since I watched it online.
This movie is about 5 teenagers who come from different backgrounds, different cliques, who spend their Saturday having detention. Their personalities clashed first, but they became open to each other (with a little help of marijuana). You know, if this was set in the present time, the characters wouldn’t even bother being friends. They will all just bring out their phones and text. Lol. Anyway, this has got to be my fave Brat pack movie! And you guys should watch it too. Heh. Oh and Victorious did a parody of The Breakfast Club but called it The Breakfast Bunch. Haha.

The next movie I watched is: Yes, Sixteen Candles. It’s about this girl, Samantha who turns 16 but her family forgets about it because they were all busy with her sister’s wedding the next day. Then, a series of unfortunate events happen to her the rest of the day. And then, there’s this guy named Jake Ryan who waits for her outside the church on her sister’s wedding. Then, they celebrate Samantha’s birthday with a cake and a kiss. It’s a pretty simple plot but if you look at it, it’s pretty sweet.

Next, Pretty in Pink. Fun fact: I thought Duckie was Michael Hall before I watched it then I found out the role was only offered to him and Jon Cryer was Duckie. Okay here’s the whole movie summary. This girl Andie isn’t rich. Her mother left both her dad and her. Andie works at a record store and one day sees a hot boy, Blaine. The next day, Blaine chats Andie asking her out. Oh and by the way there’s a character named Duckie who is Andie’s bestfriend. Duckie likes Andie but Andie likes Blaine. When Duckie finds out Blaine asked Andie out he convinces her he’ll only leave her but he failed so he storms out the store (by the way before that he had an awesome dance scene). Fast forward to the prom scene. Andie went alone because Blaine and her fought earlier. Duckie sees Andie and decides to escort her but then he decides to let go of Andie and make her chase Blaine. In the end, Blaine and Andie share a kiss. Thus, the end of Pretty in Pink. I’m sorry if you didn’t understand? I skipped a few scenes haha. Just watch it okay? 😛

Some Kind Of Wonderful. Fun fact: I thought Molly Ringwald was in the film. While watching the movie, I looked for her. Only to find out she’s really not part of the cast. Summary: Watts considers Keith as her best friend. Keith asks most popular girl out. Watt realizes she has feelings for her best friend. Popular girl’s boyfriend causes trouble for Keith because he didn’t want to lose his girlfriend to a loser. Oh and the end Keith leaves Amanda for Watts and giving her the diamond earrings he originally bought for Amanda.

Weird Science. This movie has a really simple plot and makes me laugh because in reality, you can’t really make a perfect girl out of a floppy disk. Nevertheless, Geeky Anthony Michael Hall never fails to make me laugh… (and sort of fall in love)

Johnny Be Good. IN THIS MOVIE YOU CAN SEE FETUS ROBERT DOWNEY JR. Hahahaha. Johnny is this beyond amazing football player and there were a lot of universities asking him to play for them. There were a lot of offers and the universities used his friends and family so Johnny would choose them. In the end, Johnny decides not to go to the big universities and just play of the State Uni. Oh and in this movie, Anthony Michael Hall isn’t a geek anymore.

Somewhere In Time. This movie hurts my brain??? Because of reasons I don’t want to talk about because it’s freaking too complicated to explain here. It’s like Back To The Future but without the romantic shiz going on between the characters and it doesn’t involve a flux capacitor and a DeLorean that needs to go on 88 miles per hour to work. This movie is bittersweet because Richard dies in the end but yet reunited with Elise. I don’t even know why I downloaded this because we have a VCD of this. Haha.

Last is, Can’t Buy Me Love. I’m really lazy to tell the whole summary. You can either watch it or read the summary yourself. But all I can say about this film is that this is where Patrick Dempsey rides a lawnmower with a girl. Hahaha. Yes. And since I’m going to be a senior this Monday, I want to make the last year of high school big too. So umm, should I hire a popular boy to be my boyfriend? HAHAHA. KIDDING.

Okay that is all. I watched a few more like  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Back To The Future, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Dirty Dancing etc. But I’m too lazy to include all of it here. Sorry. There are a lot more great 80’s movies there, not only the ones I mentioned. Just google it haha. I really hope you guys could watch these amazing movies. 🙂  x

The Breakfast Club

I watched some of John Hughes works the other day. I’ll make a separate post for all the movies I had watched because I’m not yet done watching all of the films John Hughes directed and all the 80’s movies 🙂 I will also include this in the separate post because this isn’t really a movie review/summary.

Anyway, I watched The Breakfast Club (2nd time lol)  Can I just say that I’m attracted to 14 year old Anthony Michael Hall?! Whaaa. Hahaha. Seriously, if I was born in the 60s or 70s I would probably have a huge crush on him and fangirl over him :\ But I was born in the wrong generation so… P.S I only have a crush on TEEN Anthony Michael Hall, NOT the adult Anthony Michael Hall. (He’s like the same age as my mom, he’s only a year younger, I think and I’m only attracted to him because of the braces)

I could actually relate to all of the characters in the movie, somehow. Because they’re teens like me. There’s a little bit of Bender, Andrew, Brian, Claire and Allison inside of us. Don’t even try denying it. And the only thing that we don’t have in common with them is that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend after that Saturday. And we don’t. *ugly sobbing*

“We’re all pretty bizzare. Some of us are just better hiding it. That’s all”

I’m like Bender because he said “Peasants” a.k.a my fave word oh and finally, I knew where the “Eat my shorts” quote came from. It was Bender who said it! Actually, I only like Bender because he tells people rude stuff but he’s actually telling the truth, I want to be like that too it’s just that I can’t afford to be mean to people. I could only act like that in the internet. I’ll be getting my ass kicked if I was THAT rude in real life.

I’m like Andrew not because I’m an athlete but because of what he did to get in detention. He hurt someone because his dad told him so. No, no, my dad doesn’t tell me to hurt people. Haha. Sometimes, it’s the people around me who make me do hurtful things to others. Other times, it’s just the demon inside of me telling me to hurt someone so they would know I’m not always nice. Either way, after I hurt someone, I always regret it. I can’t sleep at night thinking of what I did and what the person felt after that. Then, I try to be all good again but do it again. It’s an annoying cycle I can’t really avoid, you know.

I’m like Allison because people ignore me… and I’m hella weird. I bring up my problems and don’t tell the whole story and tell people to forget about it but I end up telling about it because eVERYONE BEGS ME AND THEY DON’T LEAVE ME ALONE IF I DON’T TELL THEM. I’m also like Allison because if I sit at the back or even in front, people won’t notice me and they have the gUTS TO STARE AT ME LIKE I KILLED SOMEONE. I’m also this quiet kid like her and when she talks, people get annoyed heh. Oh and let’s add something to the things I have in common with Allison, I’m an anti-social loser too so yeah…

I’m like Claire because I cry whenever people throw harsh words at me and I could only say “Shut up”. And sometimes, I don’t answer questions with “yes” or “no”… I usually play with people’s minds and explain things to them not really related to the question. Lol. Do you guys get me?

(Notice how I made Brian last and it’s not a picture, it’s a gif? Hahaha 😉 Hint: I really find him cute. I have a thing with boys with braces when they were younger okay) And finally, I’m like Brian because I may or may have not contemplated suicide in the past years. Especially when I got failing grades. Hah. And I’m a dork but I’m feeling cool.

I want to meet people this school year that I can be friends with. You know, something different. I want to have a geek friend, a spoiled friend, a loner friend, a jock friend, a badass friend. I want them to not be friends with my other friends… just because. And we could call ourselves “New Clique On The Block” or “Cool Kids On The Block” or “The Haustus Club”. That would be so cool. And so much cooler than the existing clique names in school. And we’d only be friends online or in secret because in reality we have different cliques. Yes yes yes. And we’ll make our own shirts like “Hipsta Please” or “Too hipsta for you” or “UNAGI” or “You Can’t Sit With Us”. The thing is who should I be friends with? Lol I think no one’s like that in school :\ And no one wants to join a clique with me in it. S i g h.

Anyway, I leave you with this.

You’re just a daydream away

I wouldn’t know what to say if I had you. And I’ll keep you a daydream away, just watch from a safe place so I wouldn’t have to lose.

Song of the day: A Daydream Away by All Time Low

Just got home! I watched Snow White and The Huntsman. EHEHE To be honest, it was pretty boring :\

My rating: ✰✰✰

Plot/Summary: Snow White is the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen. Unable to tolerate the insult to her vanity, the evil queen decides that Snow White must die. The queen sends a huntsman to kill Snow White. However the huntsman finds himself unable to murder the innocent young woman, and instead ends up training her to become a warrior capable of threatening the queen’s reign.

What I like: -Thor carrying an axe instead of a hammer. Loljk, CHRIS HEMSWORTH WAS THERE. YES I LIKE CHRIS HEMSWORTH.

-Hearing Kristen with an accent. Hahahaha! Not sure if Irish or Scottish(?) Hahaha!

-It’s different from the fairytale that we have read when we were younger

What I don’t like: It was boring. Hahaha! There was no thrill, at all 😦 We all know that Snow White’s gonna live again after the kiss from her “Prince Charming” (there was no Prince Charming in this movie.)

Little Manhattan ♥

Rewatched Little Manhattan last Saturday before I reviewed Chemistry. I watched it because I’m currently stalking the Hunger Games cast. Hahaha! Oh, the last time I watched Little Manhattan was waaaay back 3rd grade. That was 6 years ago. Lol :p That movie played a big role in my life. Haha! Yes, it did. And Little Manhattan explained some stuff to me that not even my parents and some other people I’ve met can ever explain to me.

I’ve watched this movie like a million times already but… what ever happened to Rosemary when she went to camp? What did Gabe do while Rosemary was in camp? Did he miss her? Did he find another girl? Does Rosemary love Gabe too? I want to hear Rosemary’s side of the story! aeojdltgkn hahahaha 🙂

And I guess, I’m the female version of Gabe Burton. Hahaha! Well, except the part with the parents thing (My parents are fortunately still together) and the Karate thing (I didn’t go to Karate class to impress a girl.) and the part where he told Rosemary he loves her (I didn’t have a “Rosemary Telesco” when I was 10 and I still don’t have one #foreveralone) and the living in New York thing (I live in the Philippines where it’s sunny everyday, exceptfor the monsoons.). Yeah. Meh.

But still, Gabe and I have things in common:

1) Like being afraid to tell they like someone.

2)Thinking that we’re both gonna end up alone.. for the rest of our lives.

3)Saying stuff about love and life in our head.

4) We both believe that love sucks. HAHA

5) We both got hurt by love and we’re still looking for that “someone”. LOL WHY DID I JUST SAY THAT. HAHAHAHA.  Like Gabe said in the movie “Love is an ugly, terrible business practiced by fools. It’ll trample your heart and leave you bleeding on the floor. And what does it really get you in the end? Nothing but a few incredible memories that you can’t ever shake. The truth is, there’s gonna be other girls out there. I mean, I hope. But I’m never gonna get another first love. That one is always gonna be her. “ Uh yeah, I got hurt by love. I guess every 13 year old got hurt because of love too(?) I never had a boyfriend but there was this boy and he never knew I existed and blah blah blah. I won’t go on anymore and tell the story. Let’s just leave it there. It doesn’t hurt me anymore but, yeknowww everyone has that one secret you can never tell anyone. And btw, that dude I mentioned is a celebrity. Hahaha :p jk. I CAN’T TELL OKAY. aoisdkhn nevermind why did I even… meh. Hey, after reading this post, never ask me again about that story. LOL OKAY? 🙂 OKAY. ANYWAY…

6) We’re both hopeless romantics.

7) We finally understood songs about love.

Here’s the line I liked the most in Little Manhattan: “Love isn’t about ridiculous little words. Love is about grand gestures. Love is about airplanes pulling banners over stadiums, proposals on jumbotrons, giant words in sky writing. Love is about going that extra mile, even if it hurts. Letting it all hang out there. Love is about finding courage inside of you didn’t even know it was there.”

Meh. I’m still hoping that someday this boy comes in to my life and buys me Haagen Daaz and walk with me around Central Park, and who’ll sing for me, who’ll kiss me underneath the Eiffel Tower and just love me for who I am. In other words,  I’m still waiting for my love story to start. I’m not rushing for it to begin because I want mine to be well written and the best one ever. A story that no one has never imagined, a story that would live on forever and that the whole world would know. Heehee. Someday… someday I’ll have my turn. You guys just wait. xx

If I were Gabe Burton, would you be my Rosemary Telesco? :”) LOL OKAYYYY.

ctto for the photo I used :p

I watched this movie a month ago, I just forgot to share it here. It’s one of my fave movies and it’s one of my favorite ’cause Kristen Bell is there ❤ (She’s my favorite actress, atm. And she’s my girl crush! Haha.) I still loved the movie even though the reviews were kinda low :\ The story’s/plot’s cool though! 😀

It’s about a teenager Marni was the kind of girl no guy would go near and would be tormented by the mean girls, and no one was meaner to her than Joana the head cheerleader. Years later, she’s a successful woman with a good job. When she goes home for her brother’s wedding she discovers that her brother is marrying Joana. When they meet she wants Joana to apologize for the way she treated her but Joana feigns ignorance. When Marni tells her mother, Gail about her and Joana, Gail tells her to try and put it behind her. But when Gail learns that her aunt Mona is her old friend Ramona who was her friend in high school whom she had confrontation with years ago, Gail feels like Mona is trying to thumb her success in her nose. When Marni learns that Joana does remember her she sets to expose her to her brother.
